All About ME!!!

IMG_2572A few tid bits just for fun.

  1. If you could live anywhere, where would it be? I actually like New  England, we have a variety of seasons, I like living by the coast, etc. However, I think I might enjoy living somewhere a little warmer for a little while (especially on days like today), but I’d probably get fed up with it once the heat hits.
  2. What is your biggest fear? Undoubtedly the fear of abandonment. I was never abandoned in a big way…but hundreds of little ways add up too.
  3. What is your favorite family vacation? A nice hotel with an ocean view. I don’t ask for much. 😉
  4. What would you change about yourself if you could? I’d like to feel things a little less intensely. Be able to reach out to others more without overthinking it.
  5. What is your favorite thing about your career? Seeing the beauty around me that others may have missed, and having a way to show it.
  6. What did you want to be when you were younger? A doctor, a nurse…something in the medical industry.
  7. Who is your favorite author? Hmmm…that’s hard. Maybe Jane Austen.
  8. Have you ever had a nickname? What is it? My name is Esmeralda, so yes. lol…lots. My current one is Essy, I think I picked that one up in Junior High. When I was little my mom would call me ‘Baldinha’…lol…don’t ask… my oldest sister  calls me ‘Nikki’. However, Es…is probably the most popular.
  9. If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?  I think the mid 1400’s, when the Azores were settled. I’d like to know who my ancestors were and where they came from. I’ve traced back a few lines, but I would like more answers.
  10. What are your hobbies. Well, the answer to number 9 might give you a clue to one…lol. I have a passion for all things genealogy, especially as it pertains to the Azores.
  11. What is the best gift that you have been given? As an adoptive mom, I’d have to say ‘my kids’ for sure! Also God’s grace, but that kind of goes without saying.
  12. Where do you see yourself in five years? Being immensely successful  as a portrait photographer. 😉
  13. What would you do if you won the lottery? Be obedient to whatever God was asking me to do with it.
  14. If you could go back to change one thing what would it be? I’d stop making decisions based on fear and act more out of love instead.
  15. Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous? Going back to that genealogy thing, I’ve been able to trace one of my family branches back to French royalty and even a few saints…very cool and humbling.
  16. On a scale of 1-10 how funny would you say you are? Well…I’d say very very close to 10…and I’d get a chuckle for sure… so there you go. 😉
  17. What was your first job? I worked at MGH during high school…delivering the dinner trays to the patients.
  18. How many languages do you speak. My first language is Portuguese, my second language I learned when I was eight…English. I speak both of those fluently. I then took French all through high school and one year of college. I also can understand a little Spanish (based on the Portuguese). Also a little Latin, does that count? Never mind…two…that’s all I can speak fluently…and some might even disagree with that. 😉
  19. How many pillows do you sleep with? I have two, but I only sleep on one of them.
  20. What’s the tallest building that you’ve ever been to? hmm…maybe the CN Tower in Toronto?
